Valdresflya, Rasletind, Kalvehøgdene, Munken Mugna.

It will take you approximately 10-15 min to drive from Bessheim to the top of Valdresflya. Valdresflya is an open, pretty much flat and moonlike landscape. There is a reason why this road is designated a national tourist road, and there are many great journeys to choose from here summer and winter alike.

Hiking:

There are numerous great journeys in the area. Both short foot hikes in the mostly flat terrain in Valdresflya itself and the many 2000 MASL peaks.

Skiing:

When county road 51 across Valdresflya opens around April 1st every year, the spring season of skiing starts. The highest point on the road lies at 1400 MASL. Approximately 15 tops above 2000 MASL are easily accessible from the top of Valdresflya. Among them Raslet, Rasletind, eastern, western, northern, and middle Kalvåhøgde, Munken (2159 MASL), Mugna and more. More demanding journeys towards Leirungsdalen offer splendid destinations such as Tjønnholstinden (2329 MASL), Kvassryggen (2071 MASL). Rasletind is the most easily accessible 2000+ MASL top in Jotunheimen, and it towers 2105 MASL. Often the skiing conditions remain good until late May. If the weather is nice this is a fantastic experience! At the highest point in Valdresflya Statens vegvesen/The State Highways Authority are currently constructing a café, restrooms and parking spaces for the joy of all Mountain hikers.
