By foot:

This route goes along the mountain water Gjende, From Gjendesheim to Memurubu, or the otherway around. Gjende lies in Jotunheimen National Park. this is an easier hike then Besseggen, due to the fact that there aren’t very many great height differences. The hike takes approximately 4 hours, maybe more. This hike goes through a landscape with fertile flora. The richest blooming is in the middle of juli. This is when you can find orchids here, but much earlier the lily of the valley blooms here. The Gjende boat goes in route with Gjende, and on your return or departure trip you can enjoy the beautiful ferry trip into Jotunheimen National park.

If you wish to hike from Bessheim you walk the T-marked route over Gjendehalsen to Gjendeosen and walk in towards Gjende from here.

By ski:

Alternatively you can hike on the ice in towards the mountain water Gjende. The ice here does not settle/ freeze until january or february, and becomes unstable relatively early. So follow the ski tracks and ask people who are familiar in with the area.
